About this project
The building at 25–27 Wilson Street in South Yarra required urgent façade remediation to address fire safety concerns associated with combustible cladding. Like many multi-residential properties built prior to recent code reforms, it featured aluminium composite panels (ACP) that no longer met compliance standards under the updated National Construction Code. The building owners engaged us to undertake the full removal and replacement of these materials to bring the property in line with current fire safety regulations.
From the outset, our focus was on balancing compliance with quality, ensuring that all works were delivered to the highest standards while minimising impact to residents. After carefully removing the ACP from the external walls, we prepared the underlying structure and installed the Mondoclad cladding system. This non-combustible solution was applied using certified methods and components, fully aligned with the Codemark accreditation (CM30124) and current NCC requirements in Victoria.
The complexity of the site required strategic planning and coordination. We staged the works to maintain live access for occupants, managed working at heights using certified systems, and ensured strict adherence to all safety protocols throughout the process. No materials were substituted or deviated from the approved specifications, guaranteeing a clear audit trail for compliance purposes.
